- Willingboro High School has launched a new Business of Real Estate class for seniors.
- The course is a partnership with local brokerage Keller Williams Cherry Hill.
- This class is part of a broader effort to offer career and technical education at the high school.
At Willingboro High School, students have a unique opportunity to prepare for post-grad life and explore career opportunities before receiving their diploma — a new Business of Real Estate Class, which launched a successful pilot cohort in January.
The senior elective, part of the high school’s Secondary Programs, combines classroom instruction with direct connections to the industry through partnership with Keller Williams Cherry Hill, a local real estate brokerage servicing South Jersey.
The inaugural class, offered during the second half of the school year, received positive feedback from students, Jacqueline Howard, director of Career & Technical Education and Secondary Programs, said. So much so that the school will be offering two cohorts in the 2025-2026 school year.
The program is the first real estate-related course offered at the school, designed with Keller Williams Cherry Hill specifically for Willingboro seniors.
Teacher and class coordinator Olusegun Ajayi teamed up with Keller Williams’ Brittany Kaizar to co-teach the course, bringing in various industry experts, exploring multiple facets of real estate and property management and letting the students pitch ideas about what they’d like to learn and explore.
“They kind of helped us design this class,” said Kaizar.
The idea to incorporate a business of real estate class into the school’s academic portfolio came from a brainstorming session about secondary and career-based programming, school leaders explained.
The real estate class is one of many secondary programs offered at the school, allowing students to earn industry credentials while working toward their diploma, whether college bound or not, including a pre-apprenticeship program through the Willingboro Municipal Utilities Authority and an EMT program.
The school and district are continuing to expand the realm of possibilities for students in the current school year, recently unveiling state-of-the-art E-sports, cosmetology and printshop classrooms as parts of Willingboro High School’s Career and Technical Education programming.
