Candra Brown is a visionary entrepreneur, award-winning real estate leader, and builder reshaping the future of construction and community development. She is recognized as the first Black woman in the United States to solely found and lead a construction and development firm while simultaneously serving as the builder, developer, contractor, and licensed REALTOR®.
Roots & Early Leadership
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Candra earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston. She began her professional journey as a science teacher and volleyball coach, leading her Pearland ISD team to an undefeated season and district championship. This early success—rooted in discipline, excellence, and leadership—became the foundation of her approach to business and development.

In 2021, she founded BEDDIEO Construction & Design, a minority-owned firm specializing in residential, commercial, and sustainable development. BEDDIEO is built on resilience, equity, and innovation—serving both private clients and community-centered initiatives.
