Meet Pamela Rich from Bernstein Realty
Rich: After living so many years away from Houston, I finally decided to move back in 2012. Houston was always “home” to me.
My daughter was away at college and my son was well into middle school, so I knew I wanted to get back to work but was indecisive about what exactly I wanted to do.
Having done so much research prior to moving back, I spent countless hours on HAR.com and loved browsing through the listings. A good friend of mine (who happened to help me with my second real estate transaction) and I were out to lunch. She suggested I should get my real estate license, and a light bulb went off! How much fun would it be to help people find a home for themselves and their loved ones? It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I went to school, passed my exams and started the interview process at several offices and finally found my home at Bernstein Realty.
I immediately dove in and took any and every lead that came my way. Our office has a huge relocation department and I started helping clients find temporary leases for the time they would be living and working in Houston. This was such an amazing opportunity, not only for me to see Houston’s growth, but to show off our city to people who have never seen Houston, much less a different country. Sometimes, I am their first introduction to a foreign place, and it is my job to make sure I make them feel comfortable and excited about their upcoming move. I take so much pride in that.
Q: What do you like most about real estate?
Rich: When I see the sheer, unadulterated happiness on my clients’ faces when they have found the perfect home, it makes my heart beyond happy.
Q: What do you love most about Houston?
Rich: Besides being the fourth-largest city in the United States, Houston, in my opinion, is the best city to live in. Houston is home to NASA Johnson Space Center and, in fact, “Houston” was the first word spoken on the moon! How cool is that? We also have the largest and most innovative medical center in the world, where people come from all over for treatment. What I love the most about Houston is the people. Whether you are walking the parks, trying a new restaurant or browsing in one of our fabulous stores, everyone is always kind. Houston welcomes all with open arms and an open heart.
Q: What is one of your favorite memories as a Realtor?
Rich: One of my favorite stories, thus far, happened the first week of my real estate career. I answered a property call from a gentleman asking to see one of our listings in Humble at 7:30 that night. Being brand new to the industry, to say I was intimidated is an understatement. Long story short, he wanted to write a cash offer that night and the home closed two weeks later. What a great way to start my career!
Q: What areas of real estate do you specialize in?
Rich: To say I specialize in one specific area or one aspect of real estate would be doing myself and my clients a disservice. My only promise is I will help you to the absolute best of my ability as I have made it my top priority to keep my clients happy. In return, they continue to refer me to their friends, colleagues, loved ones, and that to me makes my job the greatest!
